HBO’s “The Pitt” is expected to contend for another drama series win, while “DTF St. Louis” has already garnered pre-telecast awards in the limited series category. In comedy, Apple TV+'s “Widow’s Bay” is considered a strong contender against the concluding season of HBO Max’s “Hacks”.
The actress in a drama race is particularly competitive, featuring Rhea Seehorn of “Pluribus,” Carrie Coon of “The Gilded Age,” Keri Russell of “The Diplomat,” and two-time winner Zendaya of “Euphoria,” alongside newcomer Chase Infiniti of “The Testaments”. Stephen Colbert may receive recognition for his variety series, following the conclusion of “The Late Show” in May.
The ceremony will include cast reunions for “Charlie’s Angels” and “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” an In Memoriam segment featuring a performance by Noah Kahan, and a tribute to Dolly Parton. Mariska Hargitay, after nearly 30 seasons on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and winning two awards this year for her HBO documentary “My Mom Jayne,” will host the event for the first time.
