Mo’Nique has signed with Innovative Artists Entertainment for representation in all areas. She will continue to be represented by attorney Ricky Anderson and manager Sidney Hicks.
Mo’Nique first gained recognition as a stand-up comic, including her work in the film “The Queens of Comedy,” for which she received a Grammy nomination for best spoken comedy album. She also appeared on “Showtime at the Apollo” and “Def Comedy Jam.” Her stand-up specials include “I Could Have Been Your Cellmate” and “Mo’Nique & Friends: Live from Atlanta” for Showtime, and “My Name is Mo’Nique” for Netflix.
As an actor, Mo’Nique is known for her role in “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.” She won the Academy Award for best supporting actress, as well as a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild Award, Critics’ Choice Award, BAFTA Award, and Image Award. She has also appeared in films such as “Domino,” “Farce of the Penguins,” “Beerfest,” and “Phat Girlz.” She recently appeared in the Netflix film “The Deliverance,” reuniting her with Lee Daniels.
In television, Mo’Nique appeared in episodes of “Moesha,” leading to a starring role in the five-season spinoff series “The Parkers,” where she played Nikki Parker, a role she also reprised in “The Hughleys.” She hosted the BET talk show “The Mo’Nique Show” for two seasons and over 250 episodes. Other television roles include “Black Mafia Family,” the HBO movie “Bessie,” and “Ugly Betty.”
