Pádraig Brady has announced the release of GNU Core Utilities (coreutils) version 9.12. The new version includes 288 commits from 16 people over the past 21 weeks.
The release introduces a new -A option for the `uname` command, which labels all output. Additionally, the `stat` and `tail` utilities now recognize the failfs and nullfs filesystem types.
This version also addresses several bug fixes, including a long-standing issue "present in 'the beginning'" that caused failures when traversing file hierarchies while files were being removed concurrently.
