T-Mobile is offering the new iPhone 18 Pro for free to customers who trade in any condition phone as part of a launch promotion. The offer is available with the Experience Beyond plan and covers the full retail price of the 256GB model, $1,199.99, through monthly bill credits.
The promotion allows customers to either switch carriers and port their number or trade in an eligible device. Apple’s standard trade-in program requires working hardware and adjusts pricing for damage, but T-Mobile accepts phones in any condition, even those with shattered screens or failing batteries. According to Gizmodo, this is costing consumers $1,199.99 they might otherwise leave in a drawer.
The iPhone 18 Pro features a mechanical aperture in its 48-megapixel main lens, offering optical control over depth of field with four stops ranging from f/1.48 to f/4.0. The periscope telephoto and ultra-wide lenses also remain at 48 megapixels. The camera app now provides manual control over shutter speed and white balance. The phone is powered by the A20 Pro chip, Apple’s first 2nm chip, with a GPU that is approximately 40% faster than the A19 Pro. A redesigned vapor chamber increases cooling surface area by three times compared to the iPhone 17 Pro, preventing performance throttling. Battery capacity has been increased to 4,288 mAh, with Apple claiming comparable battery life to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
The offer provides monthly bill credits spread over 36 months, requiring an active and good-standing account. Cancelling the account or paying off the device early will forfeit the remaining credits and require payment of the remaining balance. A $35 device connection charge and standard taxes apply at the point of sale, and credit qualification is required. The promotion is limited to four discounted devices per account.
