Four people were killed when a train collided with a school bus at a level crossing in Belgium on Tuesday, May 26, according to official sources and media reports.
The collision occurred near the town of Buggenhout, RTL TV reported. Among the dead were two teenagers, according to the outlet.
Belgium's mobility minister Jean-Luc Crucke stated that two children are among the dead and another two people have been seriously injured.
Broadcaster VRT reported that seven children, a chaperone and the minibus driver were on a level crossing when the accident happened. The group was traveling in a minibus at the time of the collision.
A spokesman for the rail network operator Infrabel said the impact was "extremely violent."
