Tomi Adeyemi, author of the 2018 young adult novel ‘Children of Blood & Bone,’ has stated she will not watch the film adaptation of her work. The decision comes as the feature adaptation, starring Amandla Stenberg, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Viola Davis, is set to be released by Paramount early next year.
Adeyemi recently addressed a fan regarding her choice not to view the movie. According to Deadline, she said that it “has been painful” to separate herself from the film project. The Hollywood Reporter reported Adeyemi stated, “Officially separating my name from this one.”
The forthcoming film is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and is based on Adeyemi’s 2018 novel.
