Heiko Tietze has published the results of a recent survey regarding LibreOffice Base, the office suite’s database application. The survey garnered 455 responses, with over 330 users operating the software on Linux.
Users employ LibreOffice Base for a wide range of purposes, from personal media record-keeping, such as CDs and DVDs, to more complex applications like enterprise-resource planning (ERP) and financial management.
The majority of respondents requested improvements to the user interface, specifically seeking less clutter and a more visually appealing design. Participants expressed a desire for either a simplified workflow or increased power, depending on their level of expertise and the specific task at hand. Many indicated a need for an elaborate search function.
Almost an equal number of answers requested bug fixes, improved stability, and better performance. Issues were reported equally across queries, forms, and reports. Several respondents suggested removing the Java dependencies within the application.
