Lego has added eight new sets to its Harry Potter collection, bringing the total to over 200. The new builds include character models, Hogwarts architecture, and magical creatures, coinciding with increased Harry Potter nostalgia due to an upcoming HBO series and the 25th anniversary of the first film.
The Harry Potter franchise currently boasts more than 200 Lego sets since the theme’s debut in 2001. The eight new sets span a variety of builds, including character models, Hogwarts architecture, main-cast minifigures, magical creatures, a Patronus, and plants. While most sets are currently on backorder through Lego’s official store, retailers like Macy’s and Walmart have ready-to-ship inventory.
The new lineup includes “Nook: Dumbledore’s Office,” “Norbert: Hagrid’s Baby Dragon,” “Knockturn Alley Wizarding Shops,” “Hogwarts House Crest,” “Hogwarts Castle: East Wing,” “Hogwarts Herbology Plants” and “Forbidden Forest: Expecto Expecto Patronum.”
The “Dobby the Free Elf” Lego set is a 379-piece, two-in-one model that can be rebuilt as Kreacher. This marks Lego’s first brick-built version of Kreacher. Dobby is fully articulated with movable fingers, wrists, arms, legs and head, and includes accessories like the diary, sock, and Skele-Gro.
“Book Nook: Dumbledore’s Office” is the largest of the new sets at 1,182 pieces and the third Lego set based on Dumbledore’s office, following versions released in 2002 and 2022. It is currently backordered on Lego’s site but available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, and Walmart, where it is being sold for more than its original price of $129.99.
“Norbert: Hagrid’s Baby Dragon” is a 482-piece model built to 1:1 scale, recreating the size of the dragon as depicted in the films. Lego calls it the first brick-built Norbert at this scale. The model features a movable head, legs, and foil wings and can be displayed emerging from its egg or independently, measuring over 12 inches long and 14 inches wide. The releases arrive during a year of Harry Potter nostalgia, fueled by the anticipation surrounding the new HBO series, slated to premiere Dec. 25, and the 25th anniversary of *Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone*, which debuted in 2001.
