Carole Radziwill reflected on her late friend Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s potential reaction to her time on Bravo’s *The Real Housewives of New York City*. Radziwill stated that Bessette Kennedy, known for her sense of humor, would have found the show amusing.
During a segment on *Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen* following the season 16 premiere of *RHONY*, Radziwill confirmed she still agrees with a 2019 statement to the Daily Mail, asserting that Bessette Kennedy would have enjoyed her original run on the show and possibly even made a cameo. “Yes, I do,” Radziwill responded. “I think she would have gotten a kick out of my RHONY career. For sure.” She clarified, however, that Bessette Kennedy would not have appeared on the show, adding with a laugh, “but she would’ve loved it.”
Radziwill described Bessette Kennedy as having “such a great sense of humor about things, about life,” and believed she would have appreciated the show’s dynamic. Andy Cohen noted that Radziwill’s appearance on *RHONY* was influenced by her personal circumstances, suggesting that had her husband, Anthony Radziwill, lived, she likely would not have joined the cast. Anthony Radziwill, a cousin and close friend of John F. Kennedy Jr., died in 1999 from cancer, just three weeks after Kennedy Jr. and Bessette Kennedy, along with her sister Lauren Bessette, died in a plane crash.
The tragic romance between Kennedy Jr. and Bessette Kennedy was recently depicted in Ryan Murphy’s limited anthology series *Love Story*, which is nominated for seven Emmys, including outstanding limited or anthology series. Anthony Radziwill was included in the series, but Carole Radziwill was not.
