Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl addressed speculation surrounding Michael Olise’s future with the club, stating they will not be pressured by transfer fees if they want to compete for the Champions League. Eberl also indicated Bayern will assess Olise’s interest in a contract extension within the next year.
According to Eberl, if Bayern wants to win the Champions League, the question of a transfer fee for Olise “does not arise.” He emphasized Bayern’s financial position, stating, “That is the great thing about Bayern Munich: we do not have to buckle over any fee.”
Olise currently has a contract with Bayern through 2029, which does not include a release clause. Eberl confirmed that Bayern intends to begin discussions with Olise regarding a potential extension. “Michael has developed exceptionally well with us,” Eberl said. “At some point, we will certainly sit down and discuss what happens next.” He stated that by next summer, Bayern should know if Olise is inclined to extend his contract.
Real Madrid has been identified as a potential suitor for the France international.
