The Columbus Crew will host the Colorado Rapids on September 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET at ScottsMiracle-Gro Field, seeking to end a five-game losing streak. The Crew, currently 15th in the Eastern Conference with 20 points, need a win to close the gap on playoff contention.
The Crew recently added midfielder Santiago Rodriguez from Brazilian club Botafogo and left wing Anass Zaroury from Panathinaikos in Greece. They face a Rapids team currently in playoff position, seventh in the Western Conference.
Columbus is last in the Eastern Conference and trails ninth place by six teams. They also have a five-point gap to overcome to reach three teams currently at 25 points. With 12 MLS games remaining, a victory against the Rapids is considered critical. Brian Hedger of The Columbus Dispatch reports the game will be streamed on Apple TV, with subscriptions starting at $12.99 per month.
The game will also be broadcast on Alt 105.7 FM and the iHeartRadio app (English, play-by-play by Chris Doran) and La Mega Columbus 107.1/103.1 FM and the La Mega app (Spanish, play-by-play by Juan Valladares).
