The American Cancer Society notes breast cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed among women in the U.S., with approximately 321,910 new cases expected this year. About 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer, and an estimated 42,140 will die from it. Wiles did not disclose the specific type of breast cancer she had.
