NASA will host a ceremony at its Washington headquarters on Monday, August 31, at 2:30 p.m. EDT, where Turkey will become the 71st country to sign the Artemis Accords. NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will host Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır, along with U.S. Department of State officials.
The Artemis Accords, established in 2020 by the United States and seven other nations, aim to enhance safety, transparency, and coordination in civil space exploration of the Moon, Mars, and beyond. NASA and the State Department led the effort in response to increasing lunar activity from governments and private companies.
