Retired Lt. Col. David Flippo, a candidate backed by Donald Trump, has won the Republican primary to replace Rep. Mark Amodei in Nevada’s lone Republican House district.
During the primary campaign, Flippo faced accusations of carpetbagging. Despite these claims, he secured the nomination for the seat currently held by Amodei.
Rep. Mark Amodei (R-NV) expressed concern regarding the outcome of the primary. Amodei stated on Thursday that the defeat of his chosen political heir by the Trump-endorsed challenger risks imperiling the reliably Republican edge of the district.
Commenting on the situation, Amodei said, “Well, here we are.”
