Palo Alto-based Tamar AI is showcasing its TapNow platform at the Venice Production Bridge, aiming to lower the barriers to large-scale storytelling through artificial intelligence. The company’s tools are designed to support creators throughout the entire production process, from concept to distribution.
Liu Haonan and Qiao Yuhang are utilizing TapNow to build a science-fiction universe spanning 30 light years, largely independently. Tamar AI believes Hollywood has historically controlled storytelling due to the high costs and infrastructure required for large-scale productions. TapNow is presented as an “AI-native creative operating system” that combines multimodal AI, intelligent agents, and production workflows. The platform currently has over 3 million daily users across 150 countries and regions and includes the creator community TapTV and events platform TapTV Arena, which has hosted over 30 hackathons, residencies, and summits.
Tianshu, head of global AI product solutions at Alibaba Token Hub, a TapNow technology partner, stated, “AI doesn’t replace the filmmaker — it closes the gap between what you imagine and what you can see.” Tamar AI believes this approach amplifies human creativity. This philosophy is central to the company’s 10,000 Parallel Universes program, a global creator and AI-native IP incubation program intended as an alternative to traditional producer-led development.
The first season of 10,000 Parallel Universes received over 2,000 submissions and awarded a prize pool exceeding $500,000. Selected teams received computing support and, in some cases, funding, with Tamar AI retaining no copyright over their work. The company also provides assistance with sound and art, and connects creators with festivals and distribution contacts. One standout project from the program, “Primordia,” was developed by Liu, who previously worked as a concept designer on several Chinese films, and Qiao.
