Sony has announced the Bravia 6 OLED TV, a new model positioned below its existing OLED and LED lineups. The release aims to compete with midrange offerings from Samsung and LG.
The Bravia 6 is Sony’s first OLED TV to feature four HDMI 2.1 ports. It will be available in five sizes, ranging from 48 to 83 inches, with pricing starting at $1,300 for the 48-inch model and reaching $4,000 for the 83-inch version. Specific pricing is as follows: 48 inch - $1,300, 55 inch - $1,500, 65 inch - $2,000, 77 inch - $3,000, and 83 inch - $4,000.
The TV boasts a 120Hz panel and runs on Google TV with Gemini. It supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X. While Sony did not confirm the TV’s system-on-a-chip (SoC), the four HDMI 2.1 inputs suggest it may use a MediaTek Pentonic 800 SoC, a requirement for Dolby Vision 2 support.
The Bravia 6 also features a redesigned remote control with streaming service buttons positioned at the top, a larger directional pad, and a built-in microphone for Gemini control.
