ReactOS has released version 0.4.16, a major update to the open-source operating system aiming for Windows compatibility. The new release features a graphical installer accessible from a combined boot and live CD environment, allowing users to test and install the OS from the same image.
A new installation type, ReactOS Server Core, has also been introduced. Similar to Windows Server Core since Windows Server 2008, this version disables the graphical explorer shell.
Beyond the installer and Server Core option, ReactOS 0.4.16 includes infrastructure work for multi-monitor support, improvements to graphics and audio drivers, enhancements to storage and networking, and updated third-party code. Further details and downloads are available at ReactOS.org.
