Oprah Winfrey will headline a new two-hour immersive experience, “Aha,” at the Las Vegas Sphere from April 2-4, 2027. The show will feature live performances from Jacob Collier, Ocean Vuong, Ajeet, and Wintley Phipps, among others.
Winfrey announced the show, describing it as a “journey of light, sound, music, storytelling, nature and shared humanity.” She was inspired after attending the U2 concert at the Sphere, realizing the space could be used to foster “greater awareness and understanding of ourselves and our connection to each other.” Winfrey stated in an announcement video, “My first time at Sphere, I was blown away by this high-tech marvel of sound and images… What if this magnificent space could take us to the edge of the universe and deep within ourselves for an immersive symphony of awe, wonder and joy? Aha!”
The concept of “Aha” is rooted in Winfrey’s popularization of the term “aha moment” during her daytime talk show in the 1990s, which was later added to Merriam-Webster’s dictionary in 2012. The dictionary defines an aha moment as “a moment of sudden realization, inspiration, insight, recognition or comprehension.” Winfrey explained that an aha moment is like a “lightbulb, bing bing bing” moment where “the little hairs on your arms stand up.”
Tickets for “Aha” start at $145 and will go on sale September 25 at 10 a.m. PT. The show’s musical director is Max Richter, and it is directed by Ethan Tobman, produced by Baz Halpin, and written by Tarell Alvin McCraney (“Moonlight”). Stage designer Es Devlin is also contributing original works.
