Many participants waved Iranian flags and red banners symbolizing vengeance for what was described as the former supreme leader's death in war, BBC World reported. Al Jazeera noted that enormous crowds gathered for a third day to mourn, amid calls for revenge against the U.S. and Israel.
The Washington Times reported that throngs of people called for the death of those responsible for Khamenei’s assassination. Channel 4 News stated that an Iran expert, Sanam Naraghi-Anderlini, head of the International Civil Society Action Network, indicated that Iran was conveying strength with the funeral procession.
