Josiah Sturdivant, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound player from Wake Forest High School in South Carolina, committed to Rutgers on May 30. He is rated as a high three-star recruit by both 247 Sports and On3, and is ranked as the No. 14 player in South Carolina by On3. During the 2025 season, Sturdivant recorded 51 tackles, 18.5 tackles for loss, and 8 sacks.
According to Chad Simmons of On3, Sturdivant’s decision comes after Rutgers began the 2026 season with losses to UMass and Boston College. Simmons reported that Sturdivant has been in communication with both South Carolina and Vanderbilt.
