Nearly six months after the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, mother of Savannah Guthrie of NBC’s “Today Show,” investigators have released two ransom notes to the public in hopes of generating new leads. The Sheriff's Office is seeking assistance identifying the author of the notes, which contain "distinctive linguistic characteristics." One note claims that Guthrie “perished shortly after she was taken.”
The first ransom note and a follow-up message were released by investigators who believe they may hold clues as to the identity of someone familiar with the victim. The release of these notes represents a new step in the investigation, which began after Guthrie vanished from her home in Tucson, Arizona’s Catalina Foothills neighborhood.
