Hudson Williams will portray both Henry and Logan in the upcoming Crave and AMC+ thriller series, ‘Yaga.’ The series, based on a play by Sandler, reimagines the myth of Baba Yaga and is set to premiere in October.
The Canadian streamer Crave announced Thursday that breakout actor Hudson Williams is taking on two roles in ‘Yaga,’ a half-hour mystery thriller. The announcement was accompanied by the message, “Seeing double? You should be,” and a side-eye emoji. Williams will play both Henry and Logan in the series.
‘Yaga’ stars Carrie-Anne Moss, Noah Reid, Clark Backo, and Williams. A first look and teaser for the show were presented at San Diego Comic-Con this summer. The series will also air on AMC+ in the U.S. The plot follows private investigator Rapp, played by Reid, as he investigates the disappearance of Henry Park (Williams), the heir to a powerful fishery. He encounters local detective Carson (Backo), university professor Katherine (Moss), and a network of suspects.
Sandler, who serves as writer and showrunner, described the series as evolving “from myth to stage” to her first greenlit series, stating she is “reclaiming the wicked witch and reshaping her as an incendiary feminist antihero for our time.” She added that the show is “propulsive, accessible, dark, funny and unapologetically bold.”
In addition to Moss, Reid, Backo, and Williams, the series also stars Sheila McCarthy, Megan Follows, Ezra Franky, Patrick Gilmore, Katharine Isabelle, Hiro Kanagawa, Emilija Baranac, Georgia Acken, Anisa Harris, and Sam Krochmal. ‘Yaga’ is a production of Front Street Pictures and Blink49 Studios, with Mackenzie Donaldson, Andrew Miller, and Moss serving as executive producers, and Charles Cooper as a producer. David Frazee and Rachel Talalay directed the series, with Sandler showrunning.
