Viktor Hovland and Ryan Gerard are tied for the lead at 10 under par after the second round of the Tour Championship in Atlanta. Several other golfers remain in contention for the $10m prize.
Norway’s Viktor Hovland, the 2023 Fedex Cup champion, carded a four-under 66, securing his position at the top of the leaderboard with a birdie on the final hole. American Ryan Gerard set the pace earlier with a five-under 65. Gerard notably made a 78-foot birdie putt on the seventh green.
Collin Morikawa and Chris Gotterup are joint-third at nine under, while world number one Scottie Scheffler is two shots back after a 67, despite two early bogeys. Cameron Young is also at eight under, following a round of 62 that included seven birdies and an eagle on the 18th hole. England’s Justin Rose is at seven under, delivering a bogey-free 65.
Several other players are within striking distance, including Matt Fitzpatrick and Rory McIlroy, both at seven under. McIlroy struggled early, with a double bogey on the third hole, and is currently tied for 23rd at three under. Scotland’s Robert MacIntyre had a difficult day, finishing with a six-over 76.
