Dolly Parton’s star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been restored after being vandalized following her death on August 25th at age 80. The original star, dedicated in 1984, was already cracked before the vandalism occurred.
Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer Ana Martinez stated, “Our Dolly is back! Hollywood is thrilled that her star is back in pristine condition for fans to enjoy forever.” The star is located at 6712 Hollywood Boulevard.
The estate of the country superstar announced plans for “DollyFest: The Celebration of a Lifetime,” a series of public programs set to take place in Nashville and London in 2027. Additionally, “Dolly: A True Original Musical” will open on Broadway, fulfilling Parton’s wish, with previews beginning December 7, 2027, on her 81st birthday. Producers confirmed that the musical will chronicle the life story of the singer.
Following Parton’s death, her music experienced a significant surge in streams on Spotify. Globally, total streams increased over 1,260%, and in the United States, they rose by 2,320% compared to the previous seven-day average. “Jolene” saw a 630% global increase (1,225% in the U.S.), “9 to 5” increased 620% globally (1,030% in the U.S.), and “Islands in the Stream” rose 525% globally (1,235% in the U.S.). “Jolene” was the most-shared song, followed by “I Will Always Love You” and “Islands in the Stream.”
