The first of two Creative Arts Emmy ceremonies took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, honoring achievements in various television fields. HBO’s “The Pitt” and “Hacks” led in nominations, with Adult Swim’s “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” and programs like “The Traitors” and “The Masked Singer” taking home awards.
Going into the Emmys week, “The Pitt” led all programs with 25 nominations, including outstanding drama and 13 acting nods, with star Noah Wyle up for lead actor. This is nearly double the 13 nominations the show received last year. Following closely was “Hacks,” with 24 nominations for its fifth season, the most ever for a comedy, surpassing previous record holders “The Bear” and “The Studio,” which both had 23 nominations. Jean Smart is poised to win her fifth Emmy for “Hacks” and her eighth overall, which would tie her for the most Emmy acting wins by any actress.
Presenters for the first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards included Nyesha Arrington, Brittany Broski, Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio, Sean Evans, R’Bonney Gabriel, Bill Glass, Colin Hanks, Brianna LaPaglia, Ariana Madix, Heather McMahan, Julianne Hough, Julie Chen Moonves, Kareem Rahma, Lisa Rinna, Stassi Schroeder, Wanda Sykes, Chris “CT” Tamburello, Jet Tila, Whitney Way Thore and West Wilson. The previously announced juried awards were also handed out during the ceremony.
Adult Swim’s “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal” won two Emmys for outstanding individual achievement in animation. Peacock’s “The Traitors” and Fox’s “The Masked Singer” were honored in the outstanding costumes for variety, nonfiction or reality programming categories. Steve Harvey won Outstanding Host For A Game Show for “Celebrity Family Feud,” while Ken Jennings won for “Jeopardy!” and Colin Jost for “Pop Culture Jeopardy!”. Jimmy Kimmel won for “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” and Martin Short for “Match Game.”
“Celebrity Family Feud” also took home the award for Outstanding Game Show, along with “Jeopardy!,” “The Price Is Right,” “Wheel Of Fortune,” and “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.” David Ellis, Hillarie Brigode, and Heidi Miller won Outstanding Production Design For A Variety Or Reality Series for “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.”
The Creative Arts Emmys are being held at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, and an edited presentation of the 2026 ceremonies will broadcast on Sept. 12, at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FXX.
