The first night of the Creative Arts Emmy Awards took place Saturday at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles, honoring achievements in variety programming, reality, and documentary/nonfiction. The two-day event precedes the Primetime Emmys on September 14 and will award over 100 prizes, primarily in below-the-line categories.
Among the winners announced Saturday, the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show Starring Bad Bunny received the Outstanding Choreography for Variety or Reality Programming award. Charm La’Donna and Karina Ortiz were recognized as choreographers for the performance.
Love On The Spectrum won Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, with Cian O’Clery, Sean Bowman, Ashley Morgan, Emily Frisbie, and others credited for casting. Other nominees in this category included *The Amazing Race*, *RuPaul’s Drag Race*, *Survivor*, and *Top Chef*.
Tony Hardmon was awarded Outstanding Cinematography for a Nonfiction Program for *My Mom Jayne: A Film By Mariska Hargitay*. *Ocean With David Attenborough* was also nominated in this category.
Leading into the Emmys, *The Pitt* had the most nominations with 25, followed by *Hacks* with 24 (a comedy series record), *Widow’s Bay* with 19, *Pluribus* with 18, and *Beef* with 16.
