Chatham football defeated Randolph 42-12 on August 27th after the game was delayed multiple times by lightning. The game, originally scheduled for 4 p.m., did not begin until around 6:45 p.m. after two postponements.
Randolph initially took the lead with an interception returned for a touchdown by EJ Febles, covering 58 yards. Chatham blocked the subsequent extra point attempt, holding the score to 6-0. Chatham quarterback Ryan Hogan then led two touchdown drives, including a 1-yard touchdown run, to give Chatham the lead.
Randolph trailed 28-12 in the third quarter. Charlie Stanley then intercepted a pass and returned it for a touchdown, securing the 42-12 victory for Chatham. Chatham’s record is now 1-0, while Randolph falls to 0-1.
