British actor Anthony Head has died at the age of 72, his family announced Friday. Head was best known for his roles in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Ted Lasso."
Head achieved U.S. fame as librarian Rupert Giles, mentor to the title character in the series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," which ran from 1997 to 2003. He was known to American TV viewers through characters named Rupert on both "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Ted Lasso."
The British character actor's four-decade career stretched from London's West End to American television. Head was the brother of singer Murray Head.
Following his death at 72, cast members from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" paid tribute to the actor. "He was so kind," co-stars said.
