Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Jaclyn Smith of “Charlie’s Angels” will reunite as presenters at the 78th Emmy Awards, celebrating the show’s 50th anniversary. Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz, stars of “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “Angel” respectively, are also confirmed presenters. The ceremony, hosted by Mariska Hargitay, will air live from Los Angeles on September 14.
The 78th Emmys will feature a reunion of the original “Charlie’s Angels” stars – Kate Jackson, Cheryl Ladd, and Jaclyn Smith – who previously gathered at a PaleyFest panel earlier this year to commemorate the series’ 50th anniversary. Their appearance is scheduled for Monday night’s broadcast on NBC and Peacock.
David Boreanaz, known for his role in the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” spinoff “Angel,” will also present, alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar. Boreanaz is also promoting the NBC drama remake of “The Rockford Files.”
Additional presenters include Linda Cardellini and David Harbour, recent Emmy winners for outstanding limited/anthology actress and actor, respectively. Their wins will be properly recognized at the ceremony after originally being slated for the second night of the show. Other confirmed presenters are Odessa A’zion, Macaulay Culkin, Alan Cumming, Sally Field, Jon Hamm, Marcello Hernández, Peter Krause, Dan Levy, Julianna Margulies, Annie Murphy, Niecy Nash-Betts, Keke Palmer, Amanda Peet, Amy Poehler, Florence Pugh, Rachel Sennott and Zendaya.
Alan Cumming, who won an Emmy over the weekend for outstanding host for a reality or reality competition program, is also up for another Emmy on Monday. Sally Field, nominated for lead actress in a limited/anthology series or movie, saw her Netflix film “Remarkably Bright Creatures” win for outstanding movie over the weekend. A win for Field would make her the oldest winner ever in the category at age 79. Zendaya is nominated for drama lead actress for “Euphoria” and could become the youngest performer to win three lead drama Emmys.
The 78th Emmys will broadcast live from the Peacock Theater at LA Live on Monday, Sept. 14, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock. Mariska Hargitay, star and executive producer of “Law & Order SVU,” is hosting the event. Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay of Jesse Collins Entertainment and Mariska Hargitay will serve as executive producers.
