Boox has announced the Palma 3, a redesigned version of its smartphone-sized e-reader. The new device features a sleek aluminum frame, stylus support, and the Android 16 operating system.
The Palma 3 boasts a 6.13-inch, 300ppi E Ink Carta screen, similar to its predecessor, but is now encased in an anodized aluminum frame with a fiberglass backplate. It is powered by a Qualcomm Q-6690 octa-core processor, paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, expandable via microSD card. A 3950mAh rechargeable battery powers the device, which also includes a 16-megapixel rear camera and a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
The Palma 3 ships with Android 16, one generation behind the latest OS version. It also supports the Boox InkSense Plus active stylus, enabling its use as a digital notepad, though the stylus is sold separately for $46. The Palma 2 launched in 2024 for $279.99, while the Palma 3 will be priced at $339.99 and is expected to be available soon.
