Zachary Levi leads a team of former CIA Special Ops agents in “The Fix,” a new action thriller set against the backdrop of international espionage. The film follows their dangerous mission in Tehran, complicated by hidden wealth, double-crosses, and personal struggles.
The U.S. production, directed by Guy Moshe, begins with a 2021 evacuation of Kabul where Tucker, played by Zachary Levi, and his team are tasked with rescuing a local ally from the Taliban. Tucker’s decision to disobey direct orders saves lives but results in the squad’s dismissal from the Agency. Following this, the team struggles to adjust to civilian life, with Tucker distancing himself from his ex-wife and son, believing himself to be damaged.
The team is unexpectedly reassembled when their former handler, Larry (Liam Neeson), whose migraines have escalated into early-onset dementia, begins revealing top-secret intelligence. This includes information about millions hidden in Tehran during the 1979 fall of the Shah’s regime. Tucker, posing as a journalist, investigates and learns that Larry’s former paramour can lead him to the fortune if he rescues her daughter, Maryam, an activist hiding in Iran.
To infiltrate Iran, Tucker recruits his former team members, each adopting a false identity. He poses as a New Zealander seeking to export rugs, accompanied by Zara (Elnaaz Norouzi), a Farsi-fluent university student he recruits without revealing the mission’s true purpose. The mission quickly becomes complicated, leading the team to kidnap a high official (Navid Negahban) to gain access to the military facility where the hidden money is believed to be located. They face betrayal at every turn, with multiple characters revealed to be duplicitous.
