The final “Jackass” film, featuring Johnny Knoxville and the original cast, will be available on Paramount+ September 24, following its theatrical release. The film is intended to be the last in the series, with the crew going “extra hard” to make it their best yet.
“Jackass: Best and Last” will begin streaming on Paramount+ on September 24. The film, a culmination of decades of pranks and stunts, premiered in theaters on June 26. It reunites original cast members Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Dave England, Preston Lacy and Ehren McGhehey for one final installment.
The film follows “Jackass Forever,” released four years prior, which introduced a new generation of pranksters alongside the returning cast. During the production of “Jackass Forever,” Johnny Knoxville sustained injuries including a brain hemorrhage, concussion, broken wrist and broken rib, leading him to semi-retire due to concerns about further head injuries. “I can’t do anything where I can get another concussion,” Knoxville stated on the “Books That Changed My Life” podcast. “ way over my limit for concussions, but I don’t care about anything else. I just can’t get hit in the head anymore, but a lot of other guys can.”
Despite his own limitations, Knoxville and the crew revisited classic stunts and attempted new extremes in “Best and Last.” Knoxville stated on the CinemaCon stage, “My name is Johnny Knoxville, and I’m going to try to not get emotional. This is the last ‘Jackass’ film the world will ever see. ‘Jackass’ means a hell of a lot for me. We knew we were making the last one, so we went extra hard to make sure this was also our best ‘Jackass’ film ever.”
