The Roblox Innovation Awards (RIAs) were held Saturday in San Jose as part of the 12th annual Roblox Developer Conference. “Animal Hospital” was the top winner, taking home several honors. The awards, which recognize Roblox developers, artists, studios, and creators across 20 categories, were based on 319 million votes.
Roblox’s head of the developer community, Justin Sousa (known as “JParty”), hosted the RIAs. Sousa stated, “What I love most about this list is how different all of these winners are…There isn’t one definition of a great Roblox game anymore, and that’s the point.” He highlighted the diverse range of winning games, including tactical shooters, puzzle games, and “one particularly suspicious medical facility.”
The RIAs concluded the Roblox Developers Conference, during which Roblox announced its 20th-anniversary event, “The Hunt,” beginning September 17. Sousa noted, “Roblox has been around for two decades now, and it shows in the breadth of ingenuity creators bring to the table.”
Several other games and tools were also recognized. RIVALS, a competitive first-person shooter by Nosniy Games, won Best Shooter Game. LSPLASH’s DOORS received the award for Best Use of Audio Game. Onogork’s UGC Makers Toolbox, a tool designed to simplify the creation of user-generated content, was named Best Plugin. Table Game X’s Finish The Word won Best Puzzle Game. Steal a Brainrot x GOAT (Sony Pictures) by Do Big won Best Innovation in a Branded Game Partnership. SecretVerse Studio’s +1 Speed Keyboard Escape took Best Party & Casual Game, and Sable Digital’s TTK won Best Innovation in Tech Game.
