Prime Video has released initial images from its upcoming young adult series, “Boys of Tommen,” adapted from Chloe Walsh’s novels. The series stars Conor Sánchez and Nancy Surridge in leading roles.
The series, based on the first two novels in Walsh’s series, follows Johnny Kavanagh, a rugby player portrayed by Conor Sánchez, and Shannon Lynch, played by Nancy Surridge. The first images, unveiled at Prime Video’s Obsessed Retreat in Germany, show Sánchez shirtless on the rugby pitch and Surridge staring forlornly out a window.
The logline for “Boys of Tommen” states, “Both teenagers are hiding secrets,” with Johnny facing a potentially career-ending injury and Shannon dealing with a troubled and violent home life. The series explores how their “secret and highly charged connection” allows them to support each other against the odds.
Joining Sánchez and Surridge are James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Jamie Schneider as Patrick Feely, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan, Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry, James Craven as Pierce O’Neill, and Lewis Brophy as Podge. Brendan Canty (“Christy”) directs the first season, which is adapted by Poppy Cogan (“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”). The series is produced by Wiip in association with Amazon MGM Studios.
