Vondra notes that around 2010, the project saw approximately 25 commits weekly. He observes a slow and consistent growth trend, which is visualized more clearly through monthly averages. While acknowledging other important factors like commit size and feature versus fix types, Vondra points out this growth aligns with the number of active committers.
According to Vondra’s analysis, the number of active committers has roughly doubled between 2010 and today. He suggests this increase in committers may be driving the expected growth in development activity.
