NVIDIA has released the 615.71.09 Linux driver, bringing several improvements, particularly to the Vulkan API. The update includes support for VK_NV_low_latency revision 2, enabling out-of-the-box Proton support for NVIDIA Reflex with Vulkan-native games utilizing the NVIDIA low-latency Vulkan library from Windows.
The driver also adds support for the VK_EXT_cluster_acceleration_structure Vulkan extension, alongside various other Vulkan driver fixes. The R615 driver resolves startup and alt-tab hangs when using NVIDIA Smooth Motion, and addresses an Xid error occurring when loading PRAGMATA on Wayland. A new kernel driver option, “RmDisableDisplayGlitchPerfLimit,” is included to potentially reduce idle power consumption in multi-monitor setups.
Notably, the NVIDIA R615 Linux driver now supports cgroups-based memory partitioning with their open kernel driver. Additional bug fixes are also included in the release. The NVIDIA 615.71.09 Linux driver is available for download via NVIDIA.com.
