At IFA 2026, Awol Vision, JMGO, and Xgimi are showcasing short-throw laser projectors designed as alternatives to traditional televisions. These projectors offer features like high refresh rates and improved image quality, but come with significant price tags.
Awol Vision’s LuxVision projector features “optical lens shift” capabilities, allowing image adjustment without physically moving the projector. The LuxVision is a 4K projector capable of outputting 120Hz speeds. JMGO’s Iris series and Xgimi’s Aura 3 Max also support 120Hz, catering to high-frame-rate gaming on consoles like the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5. Awol Vision claims its frame pacing may even improve the appearance of 24 fps content.
The LuxVision boasts 6,000 ISO lumens, while Xgimi’s Aura 3 Max reaches 5,700 ISO lumens. Xgimi’s projector utilizes a dual-iris optical system for deeper blacks and better contrast, and also supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HLG, IMAX Enhanced, and Filmmaker Mode. The Aura 3 Max will launch via Kickstarter on October 20. The LuxVision supports Dolby Vision Gaming.
While the LuxVision can project up to a 200-inch image, Xgimi states its Aura 3 Max maintains clarity up to 120 inches. Pricing for the LuxVision is around $6,000, available this October. The Xgimi Aura 3 Max starts at $2,400, and a lower-end Aura 3 Pro will cost $2,100.
