Moses Itauma, at 21 years old, is attempting to become the second-youngest heavyweight champion in history this Saturday, facing Filip Hrgovic for the vacant IBF heavyweight crown at London's O2 Arena. He has a record of 14-0 with 12 KOs, and eleven of his wins have come within the first six minutes. Boxing circles believe Hrgovic, at 20-1 with 15 KOs, will not be enough to defeat Itauma, though Itauma has yet to be tested by a significant punch.
Also this weekend, Chantelle Cameron (22-1, 8 KOs) and Mikaela Mayer (22-2, 5 KOs) will compete in Birmingham for three of the four world titles at super welterweight. Mayer has described the fight as “the biggest women's fight of the year” as she attempts her fourth consecutive win moving up in weight classes. Cameron’s only professional loss was a 2023 rematch against Katie Taylor before moving up to 154 pounds.
