Israel continued air strikes across southern Lebanon, killing several people, hours after agreeing to a new ceasefire with Lebanese officials during talks in the United States, Channel 4 News reported. The proposed ceasefire was described as US-backed.
A top Iranian general reiterated Tehran's demand for a full ceasefire in Lebanon on Thursday and called for Israel to pull troops back to where they were when the wider war began, Euronews reported. A Hezbollah official told Lebanon the group rejects the proposed truce with Israel, according to Euronews.
The ceasefire plans are now in doubt following Hezbollah's rejection, Middle East Eye reported.
