Catalan forward Cristian Tello has announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 33. Tello, a product of the FC Barcelona academy, confirmed his decision through an emotional message on his social media accounts, bringing an end to a career spanning more than a decade.
Bursting onto the scene with FC Barcelona, Tello was known for his pace and dribbling ability, making his debut under Pep Guardiola. He went on to play for several prominent international clubs, including FC Porto, Fiorentina, and Real Betis. A highlight of his career came with Real Betis, where he won the Copa del Rey in 2022.
In the later stages of his career, Tello also played in Major League Soccer in the United States and the Saudi League. He has now concluded his international commitments and chosen to end his playing career.
