Brandon Edelman, known online as Bran Flakezz, emerged as one of four winners of the “Unwell Summer Games” on YouTube, taking home $25,000. The competition series, created through Alex Cooper’s “Unwell” network, featured 16 content creators competing in challenges at a luxury ranch in Canada for a share of a $250,000 prize pool.
Unlike traditional competition series, “Unwell Summer Games” brought together established content creators who largely knew each other, leading to organic drama. In the final episode, contestants were divided into four teams for a final challenge. Edelman’s team, which included Jourdan Riane, Blake Gray, and Carly Sutherland Lawrence, ultimately won. “There is a very funny moment where, after we scream at each other, we end up on the same team for the final challenge, and then we proceed to win the show together,” Edelman said, laughing. “Her and I have a very crazy storyline.”
Edelman first gained prominence by posting transparent videos on social media, including his “TikTok Transparency” series detailing his life in Philadelphia and the financial realities of being a content creator. He has amassed over 1 million TikTok followers and was named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in Social Media. Prior to his online success, he worked as a fitting room employee at Forever 21 and competed on Barstool’s “Project Verified.” He is also involved with Michelle Obama’s Gen Z voter registration initiative.
Looking ahead, Edelman expressed openness to future reality TV opportunities, but with specific criteria. “I think it’s always a case by case situation,” he stated. He dismissed the idea of long-term commitments like “Big Brother” due to the impact on his online content creation, and ruled out “Survivor” due to the harsh conditions. “I think right now, anything that I want to do in a potential reality TV space is just make something that’s meaningful and real,” he explained. He appreciated that the drama on “Unwell Summer Games” was not manufactured, stating, “That was really refreshing to me.”
