Prime Video’s upcoming series “The Boys of Tommen” has expanded its cast with the addition of Jonathan Forbes, Cobhan O’brien, Harvey Moloney, Tristan Heanue, Lewis Brophy, and others. The series, based on Chloe Walsh’s novels, follows a forbidden romance at a private school in Ireland.
Jonathan Forbes (“Catastrophe,” “The Rainmaker”) will portray John Senior, Johnny Kavanagh’s father. Cobhan O’brien (“Foundation”) and Harvey Moloney (“Krimi”) have been cast as Tadhg and Ollie, Shannon Lynch’s younger brothers, respectively. Tristan Heanue (“Clean Sweep”) will play Aoife Molloy’s father Tony Molloy, and Lewis Brophy (“The Virtues,” “King”) will appear as Podge.
The series also stars previously announced cast members including Nancy Surridge as Shannon, Conor Sánchez as Johnny Kavanagh, James O’Donoghue as Joey Lynch, Sophie McGibbon as Aoife Molloy, Amelia May as Claire Biggs, John Hewson as Gerard Gibson, Indy Lewis as Lizzie Young, Alex Dunne as Hugh Biggs, Dixie Egerickx as Katie Wilmot, Jamie Schneider as Patrick Feely, Daisy Jacob as Bella Wilkinson, Jonathan Heed as Cormac Ryan, Cathal Ó Síocháin as Ronan McGarry, and James Craven as Pierce O’Neill.
“The Boys of Tommen” centers on a relationship between tar rugby player Johnny Kavanagh and new student Shannon Lynch, both of whom are concealing secrets: Johnny with a devastating injury and Shannon with a troubled home life. “Through their secret and highly charged connection, the two teens from opposite worlds battle against the odds and find a way to save each other,” according to the synopsis.
Poppy Cogan (“A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder”) is adapting the first season, which will be based on the first two novels in the “Binding 13” series, “Binding 13” and “Keeping 13.” Brendan Canty (“Christy”) is directing. Wiip is producing the series in association with Amazon MGM Studios, with executive producers including Cogan, Walsh, Paul Lee, Hope Hartman, Sean Flanagan, Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, James Seidman, Annika Patton, Greg Brenman, and Deena Butt. Carla Stronge is the casting director and Ingrid Goodwin serves as Series Producer. Forbes is represented by 42 Management and Production, and Moloney by SRL Talent Management.
