The Green Bay Press-Gazette is holding a public vote to determine the Cellcom Press-Gazette high school athlete of the week. Voting is open until 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, and no subscription is required to participate.
Max Goebel of De Pere football was last week’s winner, receiving 3,536 votes. Kiley Dhein, a volleyball star from Northeastern Wisconsin Lutheran, was the runner-up with 2,241 votes.
This week’s nominees include Reese Bandow of Luxemburg-Casco golf, who earned medalist honors with a 42 in a triangular meet where the Spartans finished with a 194, ahead of Little Chute (210) and Oconto Falls (228). Asher Fontaine of Bay Port football, a junior linebacker, recorded 15 total tackles and two sacks in a 46-0 win over Pulaski; he currently leads the Pirates in total tackles (33), solo tackles (20), and sacks (3).
Urijah Moore of Green Bay West football, a senior quarterback, completed 5 of 9 passes for 69 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 103 yards and two scores in a 37-8 win over Green Bay East. He is averaging 10.5 yards per carry on 23 attempts this season and has scored four times. Maxim Skurka of De Pere soccer, the 2025 Fox River Classic Conference offensive player of the year, had three goals and three assists in a win over Wausau West, bringing his season totals to six goals and 16 points.
Walker Wozniak of Pulaski soccer, a junior forward, scored three goals in a 4-1 win over Green Bay East and another three in a 7-0 win over Marshfield. He entered the week leading the FRCC with seven goals. Previous winners include Traevaughn Weaver of Green Bay Southwest (Week 1, 11,062 votes) and Max Goebel of De Pere (Week 2, 3,536 votes).
