Florida State is projected to finish with a 6-6 record in the 2026 season, according to Paul Myerberg and Ramon Padilla of USA TODAY Sports. This would mark an improvement over the team’s recent performance and return them to bowl eligibility.
The projection places the Seminoles squarely in the middle of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). USA TODAY Sports predicts Miami will win the ACC with a 10-2 overall record and 8-1 conference record, while Boston College is projected to finish at the bottom with a 3-9 overall record and 1-7 conference record.
Florida State’s 6-6 projection requires improvement in ACC play after only securing two conference victories last season. The team has a combined 7-17 record over the past two seasons, following a 2-10 campaign in 2024 and a 5-7 record in 2025.
The Seminoles’ 2026 schedule includes conference games against SMU, Virginia, Clemson, and NC State at home, and road games at Louisville, Miami, Boston College, and Pitt. They will also travel to Alabama and host rival Florida to close out the regular season. While a 6-6 record wouldn't signal a return to the level of success seen in their 13-win 2023 season, it would end a streak of consecutive years without a bowl game. Florida State begins its season Saturday by hosting New Mexico State at 7 p.m. ET.
