Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian stated that the Longhorns will still play Michigan during the 2027 season, despite a scheduling adjustment. The game will be held at Royal-Memorial Stadium.
Sarkisian explained that the NCAA recently adopted a rule to expand "Week 0" scheduling, causing some game dates to be moved. "I think the date might be changed," Sarkisian said. "I think what you all need to understand is they changed our calendar for next year so everybody's playing Week 0 so some of the dates of those games are getting moved around. I know we're playing Michigan, I just don't know exactly when."
Texas holds a 3-0 lead in the all-time series against Michigan, having won the 2005 Rose Bowl, the 2025 Citrus Bowl, and a 31-12 game at Michigan in 2024.
