NASA’s Commercial Satellite Data Acquisition (CSDA) Program will be the subject of a webinar on September 23. The program aims to augment NASA’s Earth observation capabilities with high-resolution commercial data, strengthening data quality and funding research applications.
The CSDA program provides licensed access to commercial Earth observation data. It also works to improve data quality through calibration/validation (cal/val) partnerships and evaluations. A key goal is to fund the development of science and application use cases, turning commercial data into research and solutions.
The webinar will cover data modalities available through the program, updates to the evaluation process, and the new cal/val initiative. Presenters will also discuss the status of existing task orders with CSDA data providers. Topics include end-user licensing agreements, data availability, and new data archive and tasking capabilities available through the Satellite Data Explorer, as well as user engagement opportunities and learning resources.
