Manchester United’s under-21s team has had its Manchester derby against City rescheduled for April 5, 2027, at 19:00 BST. The original match, due to be played this past Saturday, was called off. This comes as the United under-21s and under-18s teams demonstrate strong early-season form, with players like Shea Lacey and JJ Gabriel showing promise.
The under-21s have won their first two Premier League 2 matches, defeating Ipswich 5-0 and Leicester City 4-1, scoring a total of nine goals. Currently fifth in the table, a win in their game in hand would move them to the top of the league. JJ Gabriel recently scored a hat-trick in the UEFA Youth League.
According to the club’s official website, “Manchester United have confirmed a fixture update for our Premier League 2 schedule. The Reds' away derby with City, due to be played on Saturday, was called off.” The website further stated the game “has been rearranged for Monday 5 April 2027 and will get under way at 19:00 BST.” The match will be held at the City Football Academy.
United’s under-21s will next play away against Brentford on Friday evening.
