The upcoming Linux 7.3 kernel will include expanded gaming controller support through updates to the XPad driver. These changes add compatibility for the PDP Victrix Pro BFG wired controller and initial support for several Azeron controllers.
The XPad driver will now recognize the PDP Victrix Pro BFG, a USB-wired gaming controller, allowing it to function as an Xbox One compatible controller on Linux systems. Additionally, the update introduces preliminary support for Azeron’s line of controllers, including the Cyro, Cyborg, Classic/Compact, Cyro Lefty, Cyborg II, and Keyzen models. The Azeron Keyzen, a gamepad featuring 32 mappable keys and a 360-degree hall-effect joystick, is currently available for around $269 USD.
Beyond new controller support, the kernel update includes various bug fixes. These address issues with keyboards on the Acer Aspire Go 15 AG15-42P and Xiaomi Redmi Book Pro 16 2026, ensuring their functionality. A quirk has also been added to the Synaptics PS/2 touchpad driver for the Lenovo ThinkPad T440p (board ID 2722) to improve responsiveness at boot.
