Keyser Trio Named to Class AAA All-State First Team

The West Virginia Sports Writers Association has officially announced the Class AAA All-State first team, highlighting a significant achievement for Keyser High School. A trio of junior athletes from the school were selected for this prestigious honor, recognizing their exceptional performance during the recent season.

Among the standout players is Bibs Felton, a shortstop who was selected as an infielder on the first team. Felton’s selection is backed by impressive statistical data, including a batting average of .626. Over the course of the season, he recorded 12 home runs and six triples, demonstrating significant power at the plate. Additionally, Felton hit 12 doubles, contributing to a total of 38 runs batted in. His offensive prowess was further evidenced by his ability to reach base and score, as he tallied 44 runs scored.

Also earning a spot on the first team is catcher Brielle Root. Root made the cut following a strong campaign where she achieved a batting average of .458. Her contributions included four home runs and four triples, showcasing her ability to hit for both power and distance. Root also recorded nine doubles during the season, adding to her overall offensive output.
