The Indian Premier League (IPL) has seen a significant increase in its business value, reaching $20.6 billion, according to a new study by Houlihan Lokey. This growth is attributed to record-setting sales of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals franchises.
The 2026 IPL Valuation Study, released Wednesday, indicates an overall increase of 11.4% in the league’s business value compared to the previous year. The study highlights that the recent franchise sales have effectively reset pricing benchmarks across the entire league.
The IPL's stand-alone brand value also experienced substantial growth, rising by 10.3% to $4.3 billion. This increase demonstrates the growing commercial appeal and recognition of the league both within India and internationally.
